Douglass "Fresh" Fort has a lifetime of experience dealing with ex-offenders and at-risk youth. Growing up in East Palo Alto, CA, he was at risk himself. In 1991, Douglass had survived being shot twice in the face. In 1992, E.P.A. became the murder capital of the U.S., with more murders per capita than any other city in the country. From 1991 to 1998, Douglass himself succumbed to the same pressures and social ills that he diligently fights against now, expressed in illegal activity and criminal behavior. His time in the streets gives him insight on how the “MIND” of a criminal truly works.
Douglass has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Urban Affairs from Jackson State University. Douglass committed sometime at The University of Silicon Valley Law School taking indenpdent courses as part of the Executive Juris Doctorate program. He also has several years of practical research that supports his social and academic knowledge of the criminal mind.
In his career, Douglass has successfully consulted and given legal strategies to criminal defenses attorneys defending alleged gang members charged with federal drug trafficking, federal conspiracy, first-degree murder, shooting incidents, manslaughter, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, amongst other charges. Douglass’ reputation is beyond reproach and he has won several community awards and helped launch several programs that directly help inner city, urban America. He has helped hundreds of gang-related, high-risk youth and young adults get into college and find jobs. Douglass continues to be a very respected figure in the criminal justice world.
